The Vancouver Canucks have been linked to a two-time Stanley Cup champion as Patrik Allvin and his management group continue to search for a centerman via trade.

Despite acquiring some center help last week from the Chicago Blackhawks, with Patrik Allvin landing former first rounder Lukas Reichel, it looks like the Vancouver Canucks' search for forward help is going to continue in the days and weeks ahead.
"Boston is interesting. Casey Mittelstadt is out there out there again. Pavel Zacha was a player that they explored and took calls on last season. From the Canucks perspective, those are two players that would appeal." Pagnotta said about Vancouver's search for center help.

He added, "There are players they are exploring on and I would imagine that Boston would be a club that Allvin and (President Jim) Rutherford are going to at least poke on to see what the price tag would be for either of those players."

With injury issues plaguing the team early on this season, Patrik Allvin is scouring the market to see what's available at the moment and preferably, someone that isn't going to cost the organization an arm and a leg, and it appears that there is one intriguing target they may have their sights on.

Insider links Vancouver Canucks to two-time Stanley Cup champion

During a recent appearance on Sekeres & Price, NHL insider Cam Robinson shared that one player that was mentioned to him in regards to Vancouver's search for center help is Oskar Sundqvist of the St. Louis Blues.
"One player that did get mentioned to me a couple of times is Oskar Sundqvist in St. Louis" Robinson said.
Robinson went on to share that one source has informed him that the cost to acquire Oskar Sundqvist from the Blues shouldn't be more than a second round pick, with a third round pick potentially enough to get a deal done.
"I had one source indicate that it shouldn't cost more than a 2nd round pick, maybe even get him for a 3rd if the Blues are convinced they're gonna lose him" Robinson said.
Sundqvist, 31, has two Stanley Cups under his belt from his time with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2016 and then with the St. Louis Blues in 2019, so he would bring a ton of valuable experience to a Vancouver Canucks squad that is hoping to make it back to the postseason in the spring.
The Boden, Sweden native is in the final year of his contract which comes with a cap hit of $1.5 million US, something the Vancouver Canucks would be able to add without issue.
In five games this season in St. Louis, Sundqvist has four assists, four penalty minutes and is a minus-one.
