An insider has revealed Adam Foote's salary on a new contract he signed with the club after being named Head Coach of the Vancouver Canucks by Patrik Allvin last week.
After a two-week search for a new bench boss, the Vancouver Canucks decided to stay internal after they
promoted Adam Foote to the role of Head Coach after parts of three seasons as an assistant on Rick Tocchet's staff.
The 2025-26 campaign will mark Adam Foote's first as a bench boss in the National Hockey League and his first as a Head Coach in general since he was with the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League during the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons.
Insider reveals details of Adam Foote's contract with the Vancouver Canucks
After the Vancouver Canucks announced Adam Foote as their new Head Coach, Rick Dhaliwal of Donnie & Dhali shared on social media that his contract was for three years, taking Foote to the conclusion of the 2027-28 season.
"It's a 3 year deal for Adam Foote in Vancouver as the new head coach." Dhaliwal said last week.
While the term of Adam Foote's contract was known almost immediately, many have been wonder what the former Stanley Cup champion's salary is on that deal and fans now have their answer to that question.
In an article on
The Fourth Period on Monday, David Pagnotta shared that Adam Foote's three-year contract is worth $4.5 million total and $1.5 million annually, which which has him
around the middle of the pack in the NHL, even with last year's data and changes since the latest numbers were released by Front Office Sports.
"Speaking of coach contracts, a tale of two sides: Adam Foote's deal with Vancouver is three-years at $1.5 million per season." Pagnotta said.
The Vancouver Canucks have plenty of work to do this offseason in order to set Adam Foote up for success in his first year behind the bench as the team's Head Coach and among the areas Patrik Allvin will need to address is in the top-six forward group - a 2C and potentially a winger, as well as a depth defenseman.
Jim Rutherford, the Canucks' President of Hockey Operations,
promised recently that the team will be aggressive this summer to upgrade the roster, so we'll have to wait and see if he keeps his word and if there are any significant additions before the puck drops on the regular season in October.
