It has now gone bad to worse for the Canucks, this time delivering an unfortunate update on Marco Rossi

Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin delivered an unfortunate update on injured forward Marco Rossi when speaking with the media on Monday afternoon.
It's been a difficult season for the Vancouver Canucks on the injury front and while some players like Filip Chytil and Teddy Blueger are nearing a return to game action, the club is still waiting on the return of a couple others, including Marco Rossi.
In the team's final game of 2025, a 6-3 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers, Marco Rossi suffered a lower-body injury and was placed on injured reserve (IR) by the club a couple days later.
Back on January 10th, an update was given on Marco Rossi by Head Coach Adam Foote, who suspected that the Austrian centerman would be out of the lineup for another two-to-three weeks.
"Sounds like Marco Rossi is still 2-3 weeks away from returning to the lineup, according to Adam Foote." Thomas Drance of The Athletic said on X.

When speaking with reporters on Monday afternoon following the trade of Kiefer Sherwood to the San Jose Sharks, Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin issued some injury updates.
According to Allvin, the club is playing it safe with Marco Rossi and his injury and as a result, he won't be back in game action until after the National Hockey League's Olympic break.
"Patrik Allvin says #Canucks being careful with Rossi, who is back skating, but he's likely out until after Olympics." Allvin said.
Allvin also gave an update on veteran defenseman Derek Forbort, who hasn't played since October 11th against the Edmonton Oilers, telling reporters that he's suffered a setback to a previous injury he sustained and that it's unlikely he'll play again this season.
"And Allvin says Derek Forbort is likely done for the season. Said slim chance he plays again, but didn't sound like it was likely. Called it a setback to a previous injury."
Going back to Marco Rossi, if he's not back until after the Olympic break, that would set him up for a return to the lineup as early as Wednesday, February 25th against the Winnipeg Jets, but that'll all depend on how his recovery goes and if he doesn't suffer any setbacks.
In 25 games this season with the Minnesota Wild and Vancouver Canucks, the Feldkirch, Austria native has registered 15 points (five goals, ten assists), four penalty minutes and is a minus-11.
