Jake DeBrusk finally addresses his awful start with the Vancouver Canucks & how he plans to turn it around

After signing a big ticket contract with the Vancouver Canucks this offseason, it was expected that Jake DeBrusk would make a major impact out of the gate, but unfortunately for him, and team, it has been the exact opposite.
The start of the 2024-2025 season for DeBrusk with the Canucks has been down right disappointing, and he would be the first to disclose that exact same point of view. In 8 games this season, he has no goal and just 4 assists, and after signing a 7 year, $38,500,000 contract, he needs to be a lot better.
Jake DeBrusk opens up about his awful start to the 2024-2025 season with the Vancouver Canucks
In an excusive 1-on-1 interview with the Daily Hive, the 28-year-old winger decided to reveal his
«My start has been, to me, pretty disappointing,» explained the 28-year-old today in an exclusive interview with Daily Hive. «I would like to get on the board. I got a couple greasy assists in there but I haven't really played my game.»
He reveals that even though it is early, and that there is a lot of pressure on him after singing a big deal, he expects a lot more out of himself, and that most of the pressure is coming from himself and his own expectations.
DeBrusk explains what he must do to turn around his season
«I've had a look at my seasons, the last couple, I always have a slow start out of the gates. I get hot in the preseason and then just for some reason it doesn't want to go,» continued DeBrusk.

At the end of the day, DeBrusk needs to start playing up to his contract, a big positive is that he is not making any excuses on why the puck is not going int he back of the net, but the Canucks have given him every opportunity to excel early, and it has not worked.
As he stated, he needs to be more aggressive and start playing with confidence, only he can turn it around, no body else.
