It's an all-Canadian matchup tonight at Rogers Arena as the Vancouver Canucks welcome the Montreal Canadiens to town for their lone trip this season.

The Canucks took to the ice at Rogers Arena for the morning skate and it appears that a veteran defenceman will be sitting out tonight's game as a healthy scratch.

When sharing the lines at the morning skate, according to Brendan Batchelor, 35-year-old defenceman Ian Cole was skating with Mark Friedman as it appears Noah Juulsen, who was with Nikita Zadorov, will be suiting up in his place.

Jeff Paterson of Rink Wide: Vancouver believes that it could be a load management night for Ian Cole, given his age and that he's appeared in 68 of the Canucks' 69 games so far this season.

"looks like it could be a load management night for Ian Cole. Juulsen skating with Zadorov in line rushes at #Canucks morning skate" Paterson said.

Cole, a native of Ann Arbor, Michigan, has put up nine points (two goals, seven assists), 57 penalty minutes and is a plus-12 in 68 games for Vancouver this season.

Puck drop for tonight's game between the Vancouver Canucks and Montreal Canadiens is set for 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET on Sportsnet Pacific.
