Hockey Legend Passes Away at 75 Years Old

Hockey Hall of Fame writer Larry Brooks has passed away at the age of 75, he was mostly known for his work with the New York Rangers, through the New York Post, he passed away after his brief battle with cancer.

This loss doesn't just affect the Rangers, but the entire NHL, Brooks was known for insightfulness on every team not just one.

Spittin' Chiclets announced the tragic passing of one hockey's greatest minds. Brooks covered the Rangers and the rest of the NHL for nearly 40 years. He was best known for his straight to the point attitude, never beating around the bush.
Hall of Fame writer Larry Brooks has passed away at the age of 75. The hockey world lost a legend, sending our thoughts and condolences to his family and friends ❤️
Brooks began his career in 1975 with the New York Post, originally covering the New York Islanders, before moving over to the Rangers in 1978. The Rangers then went on to win the cup in 1979. Three years later Brooks went on to become the New Jersey Devils public relations director and then vice president of communications from 1982-92. But returned to the Rangers again in 1993 introducing his famous "Slap Shot" column.

Brooks is survived by his son, Jordan, daughter-in-law, Joanna, and two grandchildren; Scott, who is 14, and Reese, who is 12. His wife, Janis, died in 2020. He will forever be remembered as one of the greatest hockey analysts and writers in the history of the game.
