As the the Vancouver Canucks gear up for a very busy offseason, General Manager Patrik Allvin and President of Hockey Operations Jim Rutherford's latest decision is raising some serious eyebrows around the NHL.
The NHL Entry Draft is quickly approaching, as there is less than a month until teams make the big decision that could affect their clubs for years to come.
Throughout the past week, some of the most anticipated and top eligible draft prospects are attending the National Hockey League's Draft Combine in Buffalo, New York, where teams get their first look up at close at some of these future stars.
It is here where teams watch the junior players work out, give interviews and undergo strict testing to see if they draft stock my improve or fall.
It's a great opportunity for teams to speak with these prospects that they've spent all year scouting, with a decision on who they'll end up selecting coming in a matter of weeks, but for the Vancouver Canucks, who hold the 15th overall pick, none of their big name executives were in attendance. - Edward Jaxon
But, the Vancouver Canucks made a very controversial decision at this years event.
Members of the NHL Stunned the Vancouver Canucks refused to go and partake in the NHL Draft Combine
The Canucks currently hold the #15 draft pick, where many notable superstars and Hall-of-Famers have been selected, most notably Joe Sakic and Al MacInnis.
But, with rumors that the Canucks are looking to trade their pick for some guaranteed talent, they made the controversial decision to not attend the event.
None of the Canucks top brass, GM, PoHO, or Head Coach, are at the following:

And needless to say, many are stunned by this choice as Insider Rick Dhaliwal disclosed on the Halford & Brough in the Morning Show, that prominent figures in the NHL are baffled.
Dhaliwal: So many people around the NHL are baffled by why Allvin didn't go to the NHL combine...A lot of people are really shocked and surprised he didn't go to Buffalo.

On paper it makes sense that if you are deciding to trade the pick, their is not a huge need to be there, but in reality, this event adds so much value that can't be seen from watching tape.
As a GM of the Vancouver Canucks, Allvin or Rutherford should have been there...Period.
