Interest is continuing to grow as more teams enter the mix for Vancouver Canucks forward Kiefer Sherwood, who was been made available by the team last week.

We're nearly three months away from the National Hockey League's trade deadline for the 2025-26 season and it's expected to be a busy one for Patrik Allvin and the Vancouver Canucks.
Last week, the Vancouver Canucks made pending unrestricted free agents available on the trade block, including forward Kiefer Sherwood who is on pace to smash his career-high in goals points and make a run towards his NHL record for hits in a single season.
Kiefer Sherwood Kiefer Sherwood's name is going to be discussed the most in trade rumors around the league between now and Friday, March 6th, with several teams already reportedly showing interest and even calling the Vancouver Canucks to inquire about the Columbus, Ohio native, including the Boston Bruins and more are expected to in the weeks to come.

Interest growing in Vancouver Canucks' Kiefer Sherwood as more teams enter the mix to acquire him

Among the teams that have either already shown interest in Kiefer Sherwood or have been linked to him include the aforementioned Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, Detroit Red Wings, Minnesota Wild, New York Islanders and San Jose Sharks.
"They have 100 percent called on both players. They want scoring and believe that with some more, this team can definitely stay in the race and make some noise." A source said to James Murphy of RG.org.

"I was told the Islanders, Sabres, and Red Wings also expressed interest in Sherwood, too." Another source informed Murphy.

Along with those six franchises, it appears that we can add at least four more to that list, with close to a third of the league now in the mix for Kiefer Sherwood.
While making an appearance on Sekeres and Price last week, NHL insider David Pagnotta mentions the Colorado Avalanche, Dallas Stars, Montreal Canadiens and New Jersey Devils as teams that would love to add Kiefer Sherwood to their locker room.
"Teams that would love to get their hands on a guy like Kiefer Sherwood, Colorado, Dallas, Minnesota; New Jersey would love to be able add a big piece; the Canadiens; there's no shortage of suitors." Pagnotta said.
With the amount of teams that are going to show interest in Kiefer Sherwood over the next 90+ days, the Vancouver Canucks will likely have a bidding war on their hands, which will help Patrik Allvin increase the return he could get on the 30-year-old with a first round pick in 2026 or 2027 among the assets he'll almost certainly be offered.
