After a strong year in the KHL, Vitali Kravtsov could be on his way back to the NHL as soon as next season - and the Vancouver Canucks could be the beneficiary of his return.
Rumours begin to swirl about Vitali Kravtsov return
For what would be his FOURTH return to league in his young career, the watch has begun for Vitali Kravtsov's return to the NHL.
Initially drafted 9th overall by the New York Rangers, Kravtsov bounced between the NHL, AHL, and KHL for a couple years before eventually being flipped to the Vancouver Canucks for
William Lockwood and a 7th round pick.
Kravtsov played just 16 games with the Canucks scoring a goal and an assist before returning to the Chelyabinsk Traktor in the KHL. This season, Kravtsov finished 2nd in team scoring with 58 points in 66 games, and may be ready to make his way back to North America.
While the Vancouver Canucks still hold his rights in the NHL, insider Rick Dhaliwal says there has so far been no negotiations on a new deal with the team.
The 25 year old's NHL years have been a disappointment thus far, but this season could be the season he starts to rewrite his narrative.
It will likely be the last chance in the NHL for Kravtsov if he tries to take it, so he'll have to make it count.
