New Stanley Cup Playoff odds were released for the Vancouver Canucks and the rest of the National Hockey League and things aren't looking good for Adam Foote's group.

As we inch closer to the halfway point of the 2025-26 season, which for the Vancouver Canucks is next Saturday against the Boston Bruins, we're starting to get a better picture on which teams have a good shot at making it to the postseason.
With the Vancouver Canucks placing all of their pending unrestricted free agents on the NHL's trade block last month, the club is signalling that they're probably not going to be in the mix for the Stanley Cup Playoffs this season, something the fans have known since the puck dropped in October.
Instead of pushing for a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Patrik Allvin has made it known the organization is taking a step back and will enter a "hybrid retool" and at this point, as much as no one wants to hear this, losing games is very important as the Canucks need to get a top-three pick in June's draft to have a chance at selecting Gavin McKenna or Ivar Stenberg.

New Stanley Cup Playoffs odds released for the Vancouver Canucks

Following last night's 6-3 loss to Macklin Celebrini and the San Jose Sharks, the Vancouver Canucks dropped back to 32nd in the National Hockey League's overall standings after climbing out of the basement during their five-game road trip where they went 4-1-0.
In 37 games this season, the Canucks have a 15-19-3 record (33 points), with just 106 goals scored and 128 against, the latter of which is sixth-worst in the National Hockey League with St. Louis, Anaheim, San Jose, Edmonton and Boston as the only teams below them.
As the Canucks and their fans gear up for what could be a painful second half of the 2025-26 campaign, new odds have been released for their odds to make it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs, as well as their chances of landing the first overall pick.
According to The Hockey News' Adam Kierszenblat, the Vancouver Canucks currently have the best odds (10.6%) to select first in June and have the opportunity to select Gavin McKenna or Ivar Stenberg, both of whom are pushing to be taken with the number one overall pick.
Meanwhile, Kierszenblat added that the Canucks have the second-worst odds at making it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs at 8.8%, which if they end up missing will mark the fifth time in the last six seasons Vancouver hasn't had postseason hockey.
"As per MoneyPuck, the #Canucks have the second-lowest odds to make the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs at 8.8%. On the bright side, Vancouver has the best odds at 1st overall at 10.6%" Kierszenblat said.
We'll have to wait and see what the second half of the season has in store for the Vancouver Canucks, but it seems quite likely that Patrik Allvin and the team's management group will be going to the podium very early at the NHL Entry Draft in June.
