New report confirms what the Vancouver Canucks are seeking in return for captain Quinn Hughes

A new report has indicated what the Vancouver Canucks are hoping to receive in return for captain Quinn Hughes as trade talks surrounding the blueliner heat up.
The next few months are going to be quite busy for the Vancouver Canucks as the club deals with trade rumors involving captain Quinn Hughes, with a number of teams already interested in the blueliner including the Detroit Red Wings, New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia Flyers.
"Once Vancouver announced they were open for business, sent that email around to the league, I do believe there was a conversation, at least one, between the New Jersey Devils and Canucks about Quinn Hughes and I stress, I do not believe there is anything imminent, I don't even know that they're anywhere far along. But I do believe that conversation was had about where things stand and where they might be going." Elliotte Friedman said about New Jersey's interest in Quinn Hughes.
Over the last week, we've seen some trade proposals suggested featuring Quinn Hughes and the Vancouver Canucks, which has led some to wonder what Patrik Allvin would even want in return for the team's captain and Tuesday, we got that answer.
NHL insider reveals what Vancouver Canucks' asking price is for Quinn Hughes
In an article for Sportsnet on Tuesday, former NHLer-turned-insider Nick Kyreos revealed what the Vancouver Canucks and General Manager Patrik Allvin would ideally want in a trade involving captain Quinn Hughes.
According to Kypreos, any return for Quinn Hughes would likely need to include four or five pieces with a combination of roster players, prospects and first round picks, with those first-rounders being unprotected.
"Right now, it seems the going rate for a team wishing to acquire Hughes is a combination of four or five pieces, including roster players, prospects and first-rounders. The Canucks are seeking those first-rounders to be unprotected so that if they end up in the lottery, Vancouver wouldn't have to worry about waiting another year to receive the return and would maximize the potential package." Kypreos said.
The Detroit Red Wings and New Jersey Devils, two teams that have the most interest in Quinn Hughes right now, certainly have the assets necessary to get a trade over the finish line with the Vancouver Canucks.
Along with their respective first round picks, the Red Wings have Nate Danielson, Marco Kasper and Simon Edvinsson or Axel Sandin-Pellikka they could offer for Quinn Hughes, while the Devils could counter with Simon Nemec, Dawson Mercer and one of Lenni Hameenaho or Arseny Gritsyuk.
A Quinn Hughes trade doesn't appear to be imminent, so it's going to be interesting who will step up with the best offer for the former Norris Trophy winner leading up to the deadline on Friday, March 6th.
