Vancouver Canucks general manager Patrick Allvin recently announced that Derek Forbort will be placed on injured reserve, meaning the earliest he can return is October 18th, there will be an opportunity for Victor Mancini to make his mark in the meantime.

"The real surprise for Wagner was the decision to cut Victor Mancini, who he believes had a strong camp, however, looking the team's defensive situation, it was likely Marcus Pettersson's spot to lose on the opening night roster and the Swede also performed well during his preseason appearances."-Jaxon

Derek Forobort placed on injured reserve, means Victor Mancini's time to shine for Vancouver Canucks.

It was recently announced on X earlier today that Derek Forbort will miss a bit of action being put on injured reserve.
Forbort will be eligible to return 7 days after being put on IR, so he's going to miss at least the first 3 games of this road trip.

People wanted to see Mancini get a look and now he's going to get some runway to make his mark
Forbort has been a steady presence on the Canucks third pairing and penalty kill, and he will be eligible to return seven days after the IR designation, but his absence will be felt on the blue line.
In his place, we hope to see Victor Mancini get a better look in some regular season action. The 22 year old was surprisingly cut from the team after a solid showing in preseason, and fans are eager to see what he can do against the best competition. Mancini is known for his combination of size as well as skating ability, and was a standout at the University of Nebraska Omaha.
The road trip the Canucks are set to go on, will be Mancini's best audition to show they made a mistake in cutting him. Forbort is guaranteed to miss three games, which will be more than enough as a sample size for Mancini to prove his worth.
