NHL Insider Leaks Exact Price the Vancouver Canucks Would Have to Pay to Land UFA Sam Bennett
With the Vancouver Canucks sitting at home watching the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers compete for the Stanley Cup, it is giving general manager Patrik Allvin a good look at one of his top offseason UFA targets.
NHL Insider reveals Sam Bennet's Asking Price from the Vancouver Canucks and other NHL Clubs
Now that that time has come and gone, the Canucks are desperate to find a high caliber forward that is able to play a versatile role and replace the talents of UFA
Brock Boeser.
Although a long-shot for the Canucks as they faced some serious adversity this past season, if offered the right price, every team has a chance at getting him.
With that in mind, NHL Insider Frank Seravalli revealed that Bennet's camp is asking a lot less than previously expected.
Per Frank Seravalli on Daily Faceoff Live earlier today -
Sam Bennett's projected contract as a UFA is tracking around 7x$7.5M. Nowhere near the $10M AAV some have been throwing out.
It was confirmed that he really only wants to sign with either the Toronto Maple Leafs or Florida Panthers come the offseason, but who knows what can happen during this summer with the "persistence" of general manager Patrik Allvin...
One thing is for sure, the Canucks are getting a good look at him dominate in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
