Vancouver Canucks forward and pending unrestricted free agent Pius Suter has earned a vote for one of the National Hockey League's major awards on Monday.
We're just a few weeks away from the busiest period of the calendar for teams around the National Hockey League with Entry Draft as well as the start of free agency and for the Vancouver, they have a
a big decision to make with pending UFA forward Pius Suter.
Suter, who set career-highs in goals and points, is going to have a ton of interest if hits the open market on Canada Day and on Monday, the Swiss forward picked up a vote for a major award, highlighting how well he's played on the defensive side of the puck.

On Monday, the National Hockey League began announcing the recipients for their awards for the 2024-25 season and first up was the Frank J. Selke Trophy, which is handed out annually to the forward who demonstrates the most skill in the defensive side of hockey.
For the third time in his career, and second consecutive season, Florida Panthers captain
Aleksander Barkov was named the winner of the Frank J. Selke Trophy for the 2024-25 campaign.
"That's two more trophies to add to Aleksander Barkov's illustrious resume! 🏆 #NHLAwards" the NHL said on X.
Later on Monday, Frank Seravalli, who is President of the Professional Hockey Writers Association,
released the full results for the Frank J. Selke Trophy, which revealed that Vancouver Canucks forward Pius Suter received a fifth place vote.
Daniel Wagner of Glacier Media & Vancouver Is Awesome shared on social media that he was the one who gave Pius Suter his fifth place vote for the award.
"Full disclosure: the fifth-place Selke vote for Pius Suter came from me. #Canucks" Wagner said on X.
Suter, a native of Zurich, Switzerland, finished the 2024-25 season with 46 points (25 goals, 21 assists), 18 penalty minutes and was a plus-two in 81 games.
It's unclear at this time where talks stand between Vancouver and Pius Suter's camp, but back in April,
Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman revealed that the Canucks didn't like the dollar figure the forward was looking for on his next deal and with the free agent market opening in just 29 days, time is running out for Patrik Allvin to ink him to a new contract.
