The Canucks have already made their play with Nikita Zadorov. Dan Milstein, his agent, laid it all on the table since he made it clear what their price would be. We learned earlier this week that Zadorov would even accept a hometown discount to remain within Vancouver, but Allvin still doesn't want him to meet their expectations.
The Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal, a known acquaintance of Milstein's, updated on the situation. He not only confirmed that the two parties had not spoken in some time. He also confirmed that Milstein was upset with the report, which indicated they were nearing an agreement:
The defenseman showed his importance during the team's playoff run. Not only did he score goals at a crucial point during the Canucks' two rounds, but he also delivered big hits and played a solid defensive game.
To this point, we know the Canucks are willing to meet Zadorov's term expectations, which is expected to be between five to six years. The two parties aren't close to agreeing on the money side of things.
