Vancouver Canucks forward Nils Hoglander is already hard at work to prepare for the 2025-26 NHL season and is back on the ice over in his home nation of Sweden.

The Vancouver Canucks season came to a close a little over one month ago as they wrapped up the 2024-25 campaign on home ice against the Vegas Golden Knights, who ended up winning the game by a score of 4-1.
In that game, Vancouver Canucks forward Nils Hoglander picked up an assist to finish what was a disappointing season for him on a high note and he knew heading into the summer that he needed to put in the work to get back to the top of his game.

Vancouver Canucks' Nils Hoglander begins training for 2025-26 NHL season

As most players do in the offseason, Nils Hoglander returned to his home country, Sweden, to rest up, visit with family and prepare for the upcoming season, which is set to get underway in 142 days.
In a video posted to Instagram on Sunday by @pa_playeradvancement, which is run by former Swedish junior player Patrik Almstrom who offers private training sessions, Nils Hoglander was hard at work preparing for next season, just four weeks after Vancouver's season concluded.
"Nils Hoglander is getting after it this offseason" Canucks Army shared on X.
The Bocktrask, Sweden was working on his skating, his edges and his shot in the video shared by Patrik Almstrom today and shooting is something Hoglander needs to do more of when the puck drops on the new season in the fall.
Two seasons ago, Hoglander put up a career-high 24 goals in 80 games, while firing 120 shots on net throughout the year and during the 2024-25 campaign, not only did his production drop off, but so did his shooting.
Hoglander went from 24 goals to only eight this year and had 83 shots on goal, a 30.8 percent drop when compared to the season before and the Vancouver Canucks are hoping that the 2024-25 campaign was a fluke and that he'll return to his 2023-24 form in October.
The 24-year-old is set to begin a three-year contract next season which sees him earn $3 million annually and under newly appointed Head Coach Adam Foote, there's no doubt he'll be given opportunites to succeed and put in a position to bounce back in a big and potentially even play a top-six role, depending on roster moves made this summer by Patrik Allvin.
