A pair of former members of the Vancouver Canucks organization were placed on the National Hockey League's waiver wire on Thursday in order to be assigned to the AHL.

It's been a pretty wild week in the National Hockey League when it comes to the waivers with several former Vancouver Canucks and even a handful of ex-first round picks being placed on the wire.
Today was no exception as the Vancouver Canucks made it official, placing Vitali Kravtsov on waivers with the hope that he'll clear and be assigned to the Abbotsford Canucks on Friday at 11 a.m. PT.
Kravtsov wasn't the only player Vancouver Canucks fans are familiar with on the wire as a pair of former members of the organization, including one who was on the team for a good chunk of the 2024-25 campaign, were waived by their respective teams.

Thursday's waiver wire featured a total of 19 players, half of what we saw on Wednesday, but there were some pretty interesting names made available today.
In post on X, the DK Pittsburgh Sports announced that the Penguins have waived 30-year-old forward Danton Heinen, who signed with the Vancouver Canucks as a free agent in the summer of 2024 before being traded in late January as part of the package for Marcus Pettersson and Drew O'Connor.
Heinen, a native of Langley, British Columbia, put up 11 points in 28 games and if he's not claimed off waivers on Friday, he'll likely be heading to the American Hockey League for the first time since the 2017-18 season, where he skated in four games for the Providence Bruins.
"Danton Heinen was one of six players waived by the Penguins today." DK Pittsburgh Sports said.
The other former Vancouver Canuck on waivers today was defenseman Riley Stillman, the brother of Chase Stillman, who the club acquired from the Pittsburgh Penguins this summer for Arturs Silovs.
Stillman spent part of one season with the Vancouver Canucks, appearing in 32 games with them during the 2022-23 season, registering five assists and 23 points before being traded to the Buffalo Sabres for Josh Bloom.
"The #Oilers have placed d-men Cam Dineen & Riley Stillman on waivers for the purpose of assignment while blueliner Atro Leppanen & forwards Quinn Hutson, Josh Samanski, James Hamblin, Viljami Marjala & Connor Clattenburg have been loaned to the @Condors." the Edmonton Oilers said.
The fate of Danton Heinen and Riley Stillman on the NHL's waiver wire will be announced at 11 a.m. PT tomorrow when we'll find out if they go unclaimed and can be assigned to the AHL or if they'll be joining a new team.
