As announced, Dakota Joshua wasn't only skating with the team, he was a full participant and his place in the line-up had people talking. With Joshua back and Elias Lindholm out, Tocchet placed the Canucks' power forward on J.T. Miller and Brock Boeser's wing, while Ilya Mikheyev was matched to Teddy Blueger and Sam Lafferty.
Tocchet didn't formally announced that Joshua was returning to the line up. During his media availability following the team's practice, he did mention that the big 81 would be a game time decision.
Many were those who laughed when Tocchet declared that Dakota Joshua had what it takes to be a 20 goalscorer in this league. Prior to his injury, Dakota has managed 13 goals and 26 points in 53 games. Had he played a full season, his current average would've had him at 20 goals.
At this point, the Canucks are probably hoping he'll contribute to the team's success without putting the puck in the net too much. That way it'll be easier to extend him when the time comes.
