Rick Tocchet's 2025 Live TV Debut has some Vancouver Canucks fans scratching their heads.

Although appearing not to be permanent role on live TV as he once held back in 2021, Tocchet is back with his old whiteboard giving a coaches outlook on what he sees during these contests.
IT'S THE RETURN OF THE WHITEBOARD 🚨

Coach Tocchet breaks down high danger shot attempts
Despite being insightful for the casual fan, Vancouver Canucks spectators are far from casual, and he is already facing some flack about his coaching mentality as a head coach.
Whole breaking down a power play between periods, he gave an in depth outlook on what he likes to see out of a man advantage, stating he likes to cycle the puck through the defence and get shots off from the point.
Although making good point, some Canucks fans have rushed to social media to criticize his strategy.
Instead of shooting from the circle, get the puck down low and pass it to the point for a point shot

I wonder why Rick Tocchet teams struggle to produce offence and average 20 shots a game
Some even claiming that his breakdown is indicative of why the Vancouver Canucks struggled so much this season, saying that him departing from the organization is the right choice and that there is a real reason why his teams don't produce the same offensive numbers as other clubs.
At the end of the day, the relationship between the Canucks and Rick Tocchet just wasn't the right fit, and everyone here at Canucks Daily wished nothing but the best in his future endeavours.
