The Vancouver Canucks' American Hockey League affiliate, the Abbotsford Canucks, has made team history on Friday night after winning their second round series in the Calder Cup Playoffs.

While it may have been a tough year in Vancouver, resulting in them missing the Stanley Cup Playoffs, their American Hockey League affiliate down in Abbotsford has had a season to remember.
Abbotsford set a team record last month following a 13-game winning streak which saw them finish second in the AHL's Pacific Division with 44 wins in 72 games.

Abbotsford Canucks set make team history after series win over Coachella Valley

In their second round series, the Abbotsford Canucks were facing the Coachella Valley Firebirds, AHL affiliate of the Seattle Kraken, who are coming off back-to-back appearances in the Calder Cup Final.
It was going to be a tough test for Manny Malhotra's group and after two games in the best-of-five series, Abbotsford and Coachella Valley were knotted up at one game a piece.
Abbotsford then came home for Game 3, where they defeated the Firebirds by a score of 3-1, pushing them to the brink of elimination ahead of Game 4 on Friday night.
The Firebirds came into Game 4 highly-motivated and weren't going away without a fight, firing 29 shots on Abbotsford Canucks goaltender Arturs Silovs, who stopped them all, while Max Sasson and Linus Karlsson scored to give them a 2-0 win and 3-1 series victory.
With the win, the Abbotsford Canucks have made team history by advancing to their first-ever Pacific Division Final where they'll face the Colorado Eagles, who finished just two points ahead of them in the regular season standings.
"The Abbotsford Canucks are advancing to the Pacific Division Finals for the first time in team history!

The team opens the best-of-five series on home ice against the Colorado Eagles on Friday, May 16 at 7 PM." the Abbotsford Canucks said on X.

The winner of Abbotsford and Colorado's series will advance to the Western Conference Final where they'll face either the Texas Stars, Milwaukee Admirals or Rockford IceHogs, the latter two of which are still battling it out in the Central Division Semifinals.
