An unfortunate series of events sees Vancouver Canucks star Elias Pettersson head down the tunnel after receiving a dangerous hit from Calgary Flames defender in McKenzie Weegar.

Just moments into the second period while entering the Calgary Flames offensive zone lies, Penner took a dangerous hit from flames demon McKenzie Weger, sending him head first and awkwardly into the boards.

Pettersson was visibly shaken up by the play and remained on one knee on the ice for several seconds.
Patterson quickly went down the tunnel to seek medical evaluation because there was contact to the head.
The play was deemed a minor penalty for Weegar, but you can believe that the National Hockey League will be reviewing the hit.
Update
The good news, fans can breathe a sigh of relief as he returned to the Canucks bench fairly quickly after it appeared he was injured.
