After getting shutout 3-0 by the Nashville Predators at home on Friday, the Canucks hope back on the road for a quick 4-game road trip, kicking it off tomorrow against the Montreal Canadiens.
It is still not confirmed when both Elias Pettersson and Quinn Hughes will be back in the lineup for the Canucks, but at least there was good news today as the pair made the first appearance back in practice.
Head coach Rick Tocchet gave one of his not so direct injury updates a couple days ago saying the two superstars are getting close to returning, and it could very well be on this road trip.
Both Captain Hughes and Pettersson have been out of the lineup for the Canucks ever since the team came back in the new year after the holiday break.
It was presumed that Hughes had a nagging hand injury even before the time off, where it was assumed Hughes was injured on December 21 in a game against the Ottawa Senators.
The ailment to Pettersson has been a lot more secretive, but the time line for his return was week-to-week, but there still has been no news on what issues he is dealing with.
As the defending Norris Trophy winner and a current MVP candidate, the Canucks are desperate to get Quinn Hughes back in the lineup as everything to the powerplay, penalty kill and 5-on-5 play runs through him.
It is expected that both EP40 and Hughes are gametime decisions for tomorrows matchup with the Canadiens.
