Teams planning to aggressively pursue Canucks' playoffs performers
With a few weeks to go before free agency, the Canucks have as many questions about their roster for next season as anyone in the NHL.
While they're still in talks with players like Dakota Joshua and Nikita Zadorov, Rick Dhaliwal says they're players drawing a lot of interest from outside markets.
One problem the Canucks have is so many of their free agents are the ones that are tough to play against... those free agents with size and grit, other teams are licking their chops right now.
Dhaliwal said players like Lafferty, Joshua, Zadorov and Myers are all coveted by other teams due to their hard to play against style.
He said he expects the Leafs specifically to be interested in Zadorov and Joshua to add grit to their lineup.
Dhaliwal said the Canucks haven't closed the door on a Lafferty return, but didn't say it was likely, and said with his breakout season, Dakota Joshua has created a ton of interest.
I can't tell you enough right now, if Joshua hits July 1st he's going to have very, very good interest.
The Canucks would love to keep all these players, but the market may just be too hot to do so.
