Two Vancouver Canucks Stars Snubbed By Team USA Raises Serious Eyebrows

With Team USA announcing their Men's Olympic Orientation Camp roster on Tuesday, two Vancouver Canucks stars have been unmistakably left off, and it is raising some serious eyebrows from fans.
With hockey making its way back onto the world stage at the 2026 Winter Olympic games, co-hosted by Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzon in Italy, Team USA announced the players who will be given the chance to represent their country.
"Congrats to Quinn Hughes & Conor Garland on being invited to attend U.S. Men's Olympic Orientation Camp!" the Canucks said.

Hughes was clearly a lock to get invited and make the team, Garland on the other hand was a bit more of surprise, even more so that netminder Thatcher Demko and Brock Boeser were surprisingly snubbed from the teams selection.

With the Canucks not making the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Garland was able to help Team USA win gold at the 2025 IIHF Men's World Championships.
It appears that many players of that winning team appear have been prioritized as invitees where twelve players from the gold-medal-winning squad received invites.
The team did not make any comments about the decision to leave off certain players, but because both Boeser and Demko (who should be invited) did not attend the IIHF, there is a good chance that is the main justification.
The biggest snub was Demko, who finished second in Vezina Trophy voting 14 months ago. While the Americans have an embarrassment of riches in goal, Joey Daccord received an invite instead of Demko. - Rob Williams
