Vancouver Canucks forward Conor Garland has landed a massive opportunity ahead of the National Hockey League's 2025-26 season, which is set to begin in seven weeks.

Conor Garland has had plenty to cheer about both on and off the ice in the last three months including winning a gold medal at the 2025 IIHF World Championship with the United States and just over four weeks later, signed a six-year contract extension with the Canucks that'll pay him $6 million annually starting in 2026-27.
As the summer rolls along and we inch closer to the start of the Vancouver Canucks' training camp, Conor Garland is set for another massive opportunity before he makes his way back to British Columbia in a few weeks.

After Rick Dhaliwal alluded to the possibility last month, USA Hockey made it official on Tuesday morning, as Conor Garland was among 44 players named to their Olympic Orientation Camp, which will get underway one week from today in Plymouth, Michigan.
Also named to the Orientation Camp roster was former Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller, while forward Brock Boeser and goaltender Thatcher Demko were not invited.
USA Hockey announced today that 44 players, representing 24 different NHL teams, will attend the U.S. Men's Olympic Orientation Camp Aug. 26-27 in Plymouth, Mich.

The two-day gathering is largely an administrative and team-building event and includes no formal on-ice activity or public component." USA Hockey said.

Garland won't be the only Vancouver Canuck in attendance next week in Plymouth as he'll be joined by defenseman Quinn Hughes, who was already named to the United States' final Olympic roster back in June, as all 12 participating nations announced their first six players for February's tournament.
"Congrats to Quinn Hughes & Conor Garland on being invited to attend U.S. Men's Olympic Orientation Camp!" the Canucks said.
With a gold medal and new contract extension under his belt, Conor Garland is hoping to have a strong start to the 2025-26 season in order to show USA Hockey's brass that he should be on their final roster, wearing the red, white and blue as they step onto the ice for their first game of the 2026 Winter Olympics on February 12th against Latvia.
