French forward Alexandre Texier's fate with the Vancouver Canucks has been confirmed this afternoon just hours after becoming an unrestricted free agent.
The Vancouver Canucks have been keeping their eye on the free agent and trade markets as Patrik Allvin continues to eye up forward help for his group amid their injury issues.
One named that emerged as a potential option this week was forward Alexandre Texier, who the Vancouver Canucks reportedly checked in on according to Rick Dhaliwal of Donnie & Dhali.
"Believe the #Canucks have checked in with agent Dan Milstein on Texier." Dhaliwal said on X.
One day after being placed on unconditional waivers, the 26-year-old winger has found himself a new home as Patrik Allvin and other General Managers around the league waited for an answer on which team he chose.

This afternoon, the St. Louis Blues announced in a press release that they've officially terminated Alexandre Texier's contract, freeing him up to sign with another club.
"St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the team has terminated the contract of forward Alexandre Texier." the Blues said.
It wasn't clear how long it would take for Texier to put pen-to-paper on his next deal, but just hours after becoming a UFA, his agent Dan Milstein announced on social media that his client would be joining the Montreal Canadiens.
Texier's deal with the Montreal Canadiens is for remainder of the 2025-26 campaign with a pro-rated salary of $1 million USD.
"Congratulations to Alexandre Texier on signing a 1-year NHL contract with the Montréal #GoHabsGo ! #WeAreGoldStar!" Milstein said.
Montreal, much like Vancouver, are dealing with injury issues of their own on forward with Patrik Laine, Kirby Dach and Alex Newhook all on the sidelines currently.
The Saint-Martin-d'Heres, France is expected to join up with the Canadiens on their road trip, which begins on Wednesday night in Salt Lake City, Utah before making stops in Vegas and Colorado.
With Alexandre Texier no longer an option for Patrik Allvin, the Canucks General Manager will now have to shift his attention elsewhere as he continues to look for ways to upgrade his roster.
