The Vancouver Canucks' American Hockey League affiliate down in Abbotsford has made some team history on Sunday night with a big win over the Texas Stars.

While the Vancouver Canucks may have had a disappointing season by missing out on the Stanley Cup Playoffs, their AHL affiliate in Abbotsford has been providing some great entertainment for fans in the Pacific Northwest.
Abbotsford rode a 13-game winning streak into mid-April, setting a new team record in the process, before having it snapped by the Calgary Wrangers in the fifth-last regular season contest and ever since then, the Canucks have been on a roll.

Abbotsford Canucks advance to first Calder Cup Final in team history

Last night, the Abbotsford Canucks were at home for Game 6 of their Western Conference Final series against the Texas Stars, AHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars and with a win, could advance to their first-ever Calder Cup Final.
Abbotsford took the first two games of the series, before the two clubs split Games 3 and 4, setting up a massive opportunity for the Canucks in Game 5 on Friday night in Texas, but it was the Stars who would come out on top thanks to an overtime victory.
Texas got off on the right foot on Sunday, taking a 2-0 lead just over halfway through the second period before Abbotsford stormed back, scoring four unanswered, including a pair from Arshdeep Bains, to win the Western Conference Final four games to two and advanced to the 2025 Calder Cup Final.

"THE BEST IN THE WEST 🏆

Your Abbotsford Canucks are the 24.25 Western Conference Champions!!!"
It's quite impressive to see what Manny Malhotra has been able to do in his first Head Coaching job and because of the success he's had this season, he's currently the frontrunner to land the Dallas Stars vacancy, according to Sportsbetting.ag.
The play of Swedish forward Linus Karlsson has been incredible to watch as well, putting up 17 points (nine goals, eight assists) in 18 games and is certainly putting himself in strong contention for a spot on the Vancouver Canucks' roster in the fall.
Another big reason for Abbotsford's success in the Calder Cup Playoffs is goaltender Arturs Silovs, who has a 1.94 goals against average, a .929 save percentage and five shutouts in 18 games.
Abbotsford will face the Eastern Conference champion Charlotte Checkers in Game 1 of the 2025 Calder Cup Final on Friday night at 4 pm PT.
