Vancouver Canucks Complete Roster Transaction with Veteran Forward Before Preseason Finale
As the NHL regular season is just around the corner, General Managers are making their last minute roster decisions, and Vancouver Canucks GM Patrik Allvin has done the same after Completing a Roster Transaction with Veteran Forward Joe LaBate.
Over the few days, the Vancouver Canucks have made a slew of decisions in order to finalize their roster for the regular season.
Then, surprisingly after signing former prospect
Vitali Kravtsov to a one-year, two-way contract after he impressed the last two seasons with the Chelyabinsk Traktor in the KHL, the Canucks decided that his services will not be needed right away and placed him waivers where he will likely be snagged up by another club.
Vancouver Canucks make multiple roster transactions on Thursday
At the same time of announcing Kravtsov's departure, Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin basically sealed another players NHL fate, sending veteran forward
Joseph LaBate to the AHL where he will start with the season with the Abbotsford Canucks.
General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that F Vitali Kravtsov has been placed on waivers, and F Joseph LaBate has been assigned to Abbotsford (AHL).
Since being drafted in the 4th-round, 101st overall by the Canucks in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Joe LaBate has only accumulated 19 career NHL games, recording 0 goals and 1 assist, his last stint coming last season with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
If the 32 year old forward is going to have any chance at making his way back to an NHL lineup, he is going to have to modify his game.
