Vancouver Canucks defenseman Filip Hronek has reached an impressive milestone in his career during the team's 5-3 win over the Dallas Stars on Thursday night.
After a slow start to the 2025-26 season, the Vancouver Canucks showed up in a big way to kick off their five-game road trip, knocking off the Dallas Stars in their own building by a score of 5 to 3, with contributions up and down the lineup.
Vancouver's top pairing of Quinn Hughes and Filip Hronek stood out all night long and after the latter dealt with trade rumors earlier in the offseason, it was probably a relief to get on the scoresheet and help his team get back in the win column.
During last night's win, Filip Hronek set a new career milestone and is one step closer to cementing his place among the greatest Czech defensemen to ever suit up in the National Hockey League.

The 27-year-old blueliner picked up a pair of assists in last night's win over Dallas, giving him 200 for his career in the National Hockey League in just 455 games with the Detroit Red Wings and Vancouver Canucks.
According to Jan Eichler of Bomby k tyči, Hronek is now nine points away from tying former Vancouver Canucks blueliner Jiri Slegr for tenth-most points by a Czech defenseman in NHL history.
Note: the following was translated from Czech
"Filip Hronek contributed two assists to the #Canucks' win and rounded off his point total to 2⃣0⃣0⃣.
He's nine points short of tying Jiři Šlégra in the TOP 10 of the NHL's all-time scoring list among Czech defensemen.

Hronek, a native of Hradec Kralove, Czechia, is going to need to be a key player for the Vancouver Canucks if they're going to have any success this season and last night was proof of that.
If Filip Hronek is able to get close to his career-high for points in a single season, which was 48 (5 goals, 43 assists) during the 2023-24 campaign, along with contributions from other members on the blue line, then there's no reason that the Vancouver Canucks can't be in a playoff spot later on in the year.
