Vancouver Canucks forward Kiefer Sherwood, who was placed on the trade block in late November, is reportedly drawing interest from one of the team's division rivals.
After General Manager Patrik Allvin made pending unrestricted free agents available on the trade market, the Vancouver Canucks have been receiving a ton of interest in forward Kiefer Sherwood.
"They have 100 percent called on both players. They want scoring and believe that with some more, this team can definitely stay in the race and make some noise." The source said to RG Media's James Murphy.
"I was told the Islanders, Sabres, and Red Wings also expressed interest in Sherwood, too." Another source informed Murphy.

Aside from those four teams mentioned by Murphy, others that have reportedly expressed interest or are expected to in the weeks to come include the Colorado Avalanche, Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, Montreal Canadiens, Philadelphia Flyers and it looks like one of Vancouver's Pacific Division rivals may also enter the Kiefer Sherwood sweepstakes.

While making an appearance on Inside Sports, National Hockey League insider David Pagnotta mentions that one of Vancouver's division rivals, the Seattle Kraken, have already kicked tires on Kiefer Sherwood.
"Re Kiefer Sherwood: A lot of teams have kicked the tires; Boston and Montreal, I believe Seattle; Columbus." Pagnotta said.
The Seattle Kraken are hoping to remain in the mix for a playoff spot in the Western Conference and currently sit two points back of the Chicago Blackhawks for the second Wild Card spot and if they want to make it to the postseason, they're going to need some external help.
However, while Kraken General Manager Jason Botterill may want to bring Kiefer Sherwood to Seattle, he'll probably have to pay a lot more than other teams given the fact they're in the same division as Vancouver.
With reports indicating that Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin wants a first round pick for the Columbus, Ohio native, the Seattle Kraken, or any other Pacific Division club, will likely have to attach an additional piece to a potential deal.
"I am hearing it's a first round pick plus for Kiefer Sherwood." David Pagnotta said recently.
Sherwood, 30, has appeared in 28 games this season for the Vancouver Canucks where he's put up 16 points (12 goals, four assists), 16 penalty minutes, 119 hits and is a minus-seven.
