Several Vancouver Canucks fans took to social media on Thursday evening to express their disappointment and frustration over Patrik Allvin's decision to trade Dakota Joshua to Toronto.

On Thursday afternoon, the Vancouver Canucks made their third trade in the last three weeks as they dealt forward Dakota Joshua to the Toronto Maple Leafs, who drafted him in 2014, in exchange for a fourth round pick in the 2028 National Hockey League Entry Draft.
By moving Dakota Joshua yesterday, the Canucks opened up an additional $3.25 million in cap space that they will more than likely use before training camp to make an addition to their forward group, hopefully a trade to acquire a top-six forward or more importantly, a legit second line center.
Despite opening up cap space for a future move, a number of Canucks fans weren't too happy with the team moving on from Dakota Joshua, who became a fan favourite in Vancouver, especially during the team's 2024 Stanley Cup Playoff run.

Vancouver Canucks fans express disappointment & frustration over Dakota Joshua trade

After the Vancouver Canucks made the Dakota Joshua trade with the Maple Leafs official, several fans flocked to the team's social media post to share their frustration with the decision.
"Another horrible move by Swedish Jim Benning now go sign Roslovic and act like he's a 2C see how that works out for us" @HughesEnjoyer said.
"ARE UOU GUYS F**€KING KIDDING ME??? 😡🤬 This is Jim Benning level of incompetence" @willguibr said.
"This better be leading to something bigger" @Carson2K07 said.
"This offseason has given Canucks fans very little to be happy and excited about." @McnuggetPeople said.
"Not thrilled with this...

If this is a move to get us a 2C, he better not be a guy under 6 ft and less than 185.

Obviously decent talent is a must, but if its a smaller guy he better have F*CKIN GRIT comin out of ass, at the bare minimum!!" @robertojames192 said.
It's understandable why some fans are upset about this decision, especially because of how well-liked Dakota Joshua was, but at the end of the day, this team lacks depth down the middle and they needed to move money out in order to eventually pursue a second line centerman, with someone like Marco Rossi a potential option for the Canucks.
