Vancouver Canucks Fans Take to Social Media to Voice Displeasure with Team Naming Adam Foote Head Coach

Vancouver Canucks fans aren't too happy with the team's decision on Wednesday to name Adam Foote as their 22nd head coach in franchise history.
After searching over the last few weeks for Rick Tocchet's replacement, the Vancouver Canucks have finally announced who would be taking over behind the bench.
On Wednesday, the Vancouver Canucks announced that Adam Foote - the former Stanley Cup champion, Olympic gold medalist and their assistant coach since January 2023, has been named their new head coach.
"Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the team has hired Adam Foote as the 22nd Head Coach in franchise history." the Canucks said.

Several potential candidates both internal and external have been mentioned including Peter Laviolette, Manny Malhotra, Mitch Love and Marco Sturm, but the Canucks decided they wanted their group to be led by someone they're already familiar with in Adam Foote.
The decision on Wednesday to name Adam Foote head coach isn't sitting too well with fans on social media, many of whom have made their voices heard ever since Darren Dreger first reported the news before 10 am PT.
"Adam Foote has one year of head coaching experience, it was in the WHL . He got fired with 14 games left in the season in a year they were hosting the mem cup . Do you know how bad you have to be at coaching to accomplish that ?" @smeez38 said.
"Adam Foote is a horrible hire. However, I get the idea. A coach that Quinn Hughes loves. Problem is that I don't think lebronifying your team for Hughes is enough to keep him." @arpan_on_BC said.
"well, with Adam Foote being the next head coach of the Canucks, I can skip next season" @sedinitronic said.
"I hope I'm wrong but I don't think Adam Foote is the right guy to fix this team. when we miss the playoffs again next season they only have themselves to blame #Canucks" @canucksgrande said.
"Adam Foote was probably the worst coaching hire out of the names mentioned for the #Canucks HC position. My hopes for next season have completely deflated." @Sinochick said.
It's understandable that fans were hoping for a new, fresh voice behind the Vancouver Canucks bench, preferably someone that would help get the most out of them offensively, but at the end of the day, everyone should rally around Adam Foote as he starts the biggest challenge of his coaching career and hopefully, he can lead the team back to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
