Tensions rise as RFA Luke Hughes continues his contract disputes with the New Jersey Devils, but luckily for the Vancouver Canucks it could make it a lot easier to keep captain Quinn Hughes.

The Canucks are looking to cement their core and Quinn is the main pillar of that core.
"As we inch closer to the start of Vancouver's 2025-26 schedule, which officially gets underway on October 9th, rumors surrounding Quinn Hughes' future with the organization aren't quieting down as quickly as some were hoping for."-Jaxon

Luke Hughes contract problems means major advantage for Vancouver Canucks and Quinn Hughes.

Nestor Quixtan of the Canuck Way broke down the advantages of the Hughes drama in New Jersey, and how it only benefits the Canucks with Quinn Hughes.
"It's a possibility. It's not one that fans may want to be on, but it's an opportunity, nonetheless. That's why the Canucks should keep a close eye on what's unfolding in New Jersey. Each day that passes without Luke Hughes inking an extension with the Devils increases the Canucks' chances of keeping their captain long term."-Quixtan

This either could mean that Luke is interested in joining his brother in Vancouver or just might not want to stay in New Jersey in general. Either way the chances look that much better for Quinn to stay in Vancouver. Maybe the Hughes link up might be closer than we think.
"Sometimes, the universe has mysterious ways of steering events to one direction or another. But the fact is that a Canucks-Devils trade involving Luke Hughes is minuscule at this time. The last thing the Devils would want is to part ways with their prized RFA blueliner. For New Jersey, Luke Hughes is the future of their blue line."-Quixtan

While it seems not very plausible for the Quinn and Luke to play together this season, the possibility of them playing together eventually however, continues to grow more and more as we see how poorly Luke's contract is being handled.
What a dream it would be if all three brothers played for the Canucks one day.
