With just a few hours to go until the Vancouver Canucks take on former teammate and highly controversial figure J.T. Miller as the new captain of the New York Rangers, goalie Kevin Lankinen announced some life changing news on social media.

With J.T Miller to make his highly anticipated return to Rogers Arena for the first time since being surprisingly named team captain of the New York Rangers, his former foe, Elias Pettersson and other past teammates commented on the "elephant in the room".
"Obviously last year was a different year." Brock Boeser said. "He's not afraid to voice his opinion on things. He's obviously a tough player to replace, he's an unbelievable player and a void that's hard to fill."

"Obviously there was some things going on, but it wasn't as big as it was made out to be." Tyler Myers said. He's a guy who always wore his heart on his sleeve. When he was having a good day, you knew it, when he was having a bad day, you knew it. To come together as a group, you can't hold anything in, you got to air things out. There's going to be noise with anything, positive or negative. We just have to realize that, you know, if anything goes on throughout a year, that we're still brothers and we're all still fighting for the same goal."

"Obviously we're not happy with how it went, but that was in the past and we can only learn from it." Elias Pettersson said.

"Millsy's no longer a teammate, so you know, to me he's just a good friend." Conor Garland said. "We're off of last year, we've already moved on. He's in New York, we're in Vancouver. It'll be nice to see him when we play him, but besides that, we're on about our team."
