Vancouver Canucks Going After New York Rangers Defenseman K'Andre Miller? Report Says Yes
As the trade deadline draws closer, the Vancouver Canucks and New York Rangers may end up being partners after all following new reports of their interest in a Blueshirts defenseman.
Patrik Allvin and the Vancouver Canucks are continuing their search for a top-four defenseman,
which has been ongoing all season long, and it appears that a new name has entered the mix that they're interested in.
In a recent article on The Fourth Period, the Vancouver Canucks, along with the Anaheim Ducks, were linked to K'Andre Miller of the New York Rangers.
"The Rangers are still listening on everyone, even though they've climbed back into the playoff race, and are willing to package players up in the right deals. Miller's name is still out there. He's set to become an RFA, with arbitration rights, this summer.
Teams reportedly Linked: Vancouver, Anaheim"
Miller, 25, is in the final year of his contract with the New York Rangers and will become a restricted free agent on July 1st, with a qualifying offer of $4.646 million, which could be tough for GM Chris Drury to give him.
In 44 games this season, the St. Paul, Minnesota native has registered 11 points (three goals, eight assists), ten penalty minutes and is a minus-five.
If the Vancouver Canucks and New York Rangers were to come back to the table to work on a J.T. Miller, perhaps another Miller, K'Andre in this case, could be part of the package heading back to the British Columbia club.
We're only 37 days away from the National Hockey League's trade deadline for the 2024-25 season and action is expected to pick up in the coming weeks, possibly right after the conclusion of the 4 Nations Face-Off.
