Vancouver Canucks Head Coach Adam Foote Full of Praise For Recently Formed "Abbotsford Line"
Vancouver Canucks Head Coach Adam Foote was full of praise post-game on Friday night for a recently formed "Abbotsford Line" featuring a trio of Calder Cup champions.
After starting the 2025-26 season 1-2-0, the Vancouver Canucks embarked on their second-longest road trip of the year which began with a stop in Dallas against the Stars.
Because of injury issues, as well as the decision to assign Braeden Cootes to the WHL, Vancouver's lineup has seen some big changes over the last few days, Max Sasson being called up from Abbotsford, while Linus Karlsson has come into the lineup for former first round pick Jonathan Lekkerimaki, who has been a healthy scratch.
Ahead of Thursday's game in Dallas, Head Coach Adam Foote formed an "Abbotsford Line" on his fourth trio, which consists of Arshdeep Bains, Max Sasson and Linus Karlsson, all of whom played big roles in helping their AHL affiliate take home their first-ever Calder Cup back in June.

Over their two games together the "Abbotsford Line" has played a key role in helping the Vancouver Canucks pick up back-to-back wins, with Max Sasson registering a pair of goals for the club, while Swedish forward Linus Karlsson recording an assist.
After Friday's shootout win in The Windy City over the Chicago Blackhawks, Vancouver Canucks Head Coach Adam Foote was very pleased with what he's seen from the Bains-Sasson-Karlsson trio so far as the club is 2-0-0 on their road trip.
"When you're young like that, their whole line, the energy they bring, we can deal with some of the things that they have to learn on the fly. You have to play games to get some of those things and address. So, I really like their game. I like that line." Foote said.
He added, "With all the power plays, they probably didn't play the minutes they deserved, but they'll play some more minutes."

Max Sasson also spoke about his chemistry with Arshdeep Bains and Linus Karlsson following Friday's win, telling Sportsnet's Dan Murphy that they're all really comfortable with each other, especially since they've played well over 100 games together down in Abbotsford, and is quite pleased with how things are going for the three of them early on.
"Yeah, it's something we've talked about probably for two-and-a-half years now down there, to one day be in the NHL and helping out this team. So, I feel really comfortable with them, they feel comfortable with me, we're all super close off the ice. We've played probably 150 games together in the A and we find each other, we know where each other are, we're dependable and it's working." Sasson said.
The "Abbotsford Line" and the rest of the Vancouver Canucks will look to extend their win streak to three on Sunday when they take on the Washington Capitals at 9:30 a.m. PT on Sportsnet.
