The Vancouver Canucks have issued key injury updates to a pair of defenseman ahead of their game tonight at Rogers Arena against the New York Rangers.
After a big win against the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday night, the Vancouver Canucks moved back to .500 on the season with a 5-5-0 record through ten games and are within striking distance of first place in the Pacific Division.
Unfortunately for Adam Foote's group, injuries continue to be a big story, which led the club to call up top defensive prospect Tom Willander this morning, who will reportedly be making his National Hockey League debut tonight on home ice.
"We will see for sure at morning skate but looking like NHL debut tonight for the 2023 first-rounder" Friedman reported.

In order to make room for Tom Willander in the NHL, the Vancouver Canucks needed to complete some roster moves this morning involving defensemen Victor Mancini and Derek Forbort.
Victor Mancini, who left Sunday's game with an injury and did not return for the third period, with the club's training staff evaluating him over the last couple of days.
"Victor Mancini is still being evaluated, and the club doesn't have a firm timeline yet." Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet 650 said on Sunday.
While there's no timeline for Mancini's return or details on the exact injury he is currently dealing with, the club has announced that the Hancock, Michigan native has been placed on injured reserve retroactive to Sunday, October 26th.
As for Derek Forbort, he hasn't played since October 11th and was placed on injured reserve by the organization ahead of their recent five-game road trip.
Forbort was eligible to return to the Canucks' lineup as early as last Tuesday's game in Pittsburgh, but unfortunately he suffered a setback and is now week-to-week according to General Manager Patrik Allvin.
The 33-year-old Duluth, Minnesota native was moved to long-term injured reserve by the Canucks on Tuesday, retroactive to Saturday, October 11th, meaning he'll miss at least ten games and 24 days, as per the league's LTIR rules.
