The Vancouver Canucks made it official on Thursday, coming to an agreement with 17-year-old goaltender and 2025 second-round Draft pick Alexei Medvedev to a three-year entry level contract.

Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin and Jim Rutherford had a more than solid 2025 NHL Draft, picking some big names that they felt were not going to be available when their name was called.
The Canucks used their first round pick (15th overall) to select centerman Braeden Cootes from the WHL Seattle Thunderbirds, and didn't waste any time getting him locked up as they announced on Thursday that signed him to a three-year, entry-level contract." the Canucks said.
"General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the #Canucks have agreed to terms with forward Braeden Cootes on a three-year, entry-level contract." the Canucks said.
"1st round pick Braeden Cootes signs with the Canucks.

Cootes got 500,000 dollars in A bonuses." Dhaliwal said.

With Cootes being signed, the Canucks followed suit with another big signing as they announced on Thursday that they put pen to paper with 2nd-round draft pick Alexei Medvedev to an entry-level deal.
General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the #Canucks have agreed to terms with goaltender Aleksei Medvedev on a three-year, entry-level contract.
With Medvedev officially apart of the organization, the Canucks now have 8 goalies signed, Thatcher Demko, Kevin Lankinen, Artūrs Silovs, Nikita Tolopilo, Ty Young, Jiři Patera, Aku Koskenvuo and Alexei Medvedev.
Medvedev's full contract breakdown
The #Canucks signed Pick #47 in the 2025 draft G Aleksei Medvedev to a 3 year ELC

Yr 1: $775K Base, $98K SB, $103K GP Bonus, $85K Minors
Yr 2: $825K/$98K/$53K/$85K
Yr 3: $878K/$98K/$85K
There has already been rumblings that the likes of Silovs will have to be moved due to the lack of roster spots for him and the Canucks signing Thatcher Demko to a multi-year contract last week.
Now that there is another netminder, the spots have reduced even further and it appears that Silovs should be out the door any day now.
