The Vancouver Canucks' odds to win the Stanley Cup have dropped off in recent weeks despite a strong start to the offseason by the team's front office.

Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin has been quite active so far this offseason and has made some moves that'll certainly help the team push for a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs next spring.
Among the moves made by the Canucks GM in recent weeks includes acquiring forward Evander Kane from the Edmonton Oilers, signing Brock Boeser to a long-term deal for seven years, as well as contract extensions for Thatcher Demko and forward Conor Garland.
With the bulk of Vancouver's offseason work now completed and for the majority of teams around the National Hockey League too, new Stanley Cup odds have been released and the Canucks have dropped a little bit.

Vancouver Canucks drop in recently updated Stanley Cup odds

In a post on social media on Canada Day, after the majority of the big names were off the free agent board, Thomas Drance of The Athletic revealed Vancouver's odds to win the Stanley Cup from FanDuel Sportsbook.
FanDuel Sportsbook has the Vancouver Canucks at +6000 odds to win the Stanley Cup in June of 2026, just a few weeks after the club was at +5000.
"The #Canucks opened at +5000 to win the Stanley Cup in the outright markets at @FDSportsbook.

A few weeks later, and as the dust settles on the draft, free agency and the meat of the NHL offseason, their Cup odds have gotten longer (+6000)." Drance said.
A big reason for Vancouver's drop in production doesn't have to do with the Canucks at all, it has to do with what other teams around them did to improve between the Entry Draft and the start of the free agency window on July 1st.
While the Vancouver Canucks' chances of winning the Stanley Cup are quite slim if we're being honest, the team should absolutely be in the mix for a spot in the postseason, if everyone is at the top of their game and everyone remains healthy throughout the year.
The addition of Evander Kane and retaining Brock Boeser will go a long way in the team's chances of making it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs and currently, Daily Faceoff has the team's lines looking like this:
DeBrusk -- Pettersson -- Boeser
Kane -- Chytil -- Garland
Hoglander -- Raty -- Sherwood
Joshua -- Blueger -- O'Connor
Hughes -- Hronek
M. Pettersson -- Myers
Forbort -- E. Pettersson
Demko
Lankinen
It's going to be interesting to see if Patrik Allvin and the Canucks' management staff are able to make anymore additions to the lineup before the 2025-26 season and if they're able to find a permanent solution to their second line center position.
