Amid the the rumors that owner Francesco Aquilini is the midst of trying to the the team, the Vancouver Canucks organization has stepped in and made an official statement putting the rumor to rest.

A report early Thursday morning suggested that due to all of the backlash and criticism owner Francesco Aquilini is facing from the fans and media that after 20 years of ownership, he is looking to sell the team, or parts of it.
"There's speculation that Luigi Aquilini, the founder of Aquilini Investment Group, and his two sons Paolo and Roberto, who have no active roles in the hockey club, may have grown a tad tired of the constant drama surrounding the team. The Canucks are run by Luigi's eldest son Francesco, who's the chairman and governor. Market value for the hockey club and Rogers Arena is speculated to be between $2-3 billion." Kypreos said.

The Vancouver Canucks are officially not for sale

It is clear that that 2024-2025 NHL season was a complete wash for the Canucks, filled with drama, injuries and hard criticism as the missed the playoffs in which they came off one of their best season in recent memory last year.
Now that head coach Rick Tocchet is no longer with the team for the exact reasons mentioned, the whole organization is under intense scrutiny for its inability to handle situations properly and professionally.
With all that being said, a spokesperson for the Canucks spoke to the media and confirmed that the team is not for sale, and the comments made by former NHLer Nick Kypreos was out of line when making those comments.
When asked about the report, a team spokesperson confirmed with Daily Hive that the Canucks are not for sale.

While the Aquilini family have experienced significant growth and financial success over the 20 years of ownership, his reputation as a good owner has not been more negative, even being ranked as the leagues second worst owner in the NHL.
Now that the league's salary cap is expected to increase by $25.5 million over the next 3 seasons, he will not be happy to have to pay his players more money.
