The Vancouver Canucks organization has announced the signing of a former NCAA forward and the cousin of a National Hockey League legend this week.
We're about six weeks into the 2025-26 season here in North America and for all three teams a part of the Vancouver Canucks organization, including the AHL's Abbotsford Canucks and ECHL's Kalamazoo Wings, it's been quite an eventful one.
Injuries and inconsistent play are plaguing all three clubs and for the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL, they've been busy trying to replenish their roster with external help as they sit last in the Western Conference with four wins in 12 games.
Among the recent additions made to Kalamazoo's roster recently including the signings of 25-year-old forward Colson Gengenbach and former NCAA goaltender Luke Pavicich as well as a trade with the Worcester Railers for defenseman Ryan Dickinson.

In a press release this week, the Kalamazoo Wings announced that they've signed forward Noah Kane to a one-year contract for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.
"The Kalamazoo Wings, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Vancouver Canucks, announced Thursday that the team has signed forward Noah Kane to a Standard Player Contract (SPC)." the club said.
Kane, a native of Buffalo, New York, spent four seasons in the NCAA with Mercyhurst University and Long Island University, putting up 67 points (25 goals, 42 assists) in 112 games before making the jump to professional hockey.
In his professional hockey career thus far, the 25-year-old, who is cousins with three-time Stanley Cup champion Patrick Kane, has made stops in the ECHL with the Cincinnati Cyclones, Allen Americans and Bloomington Bison, as well as Jokipojat Joensuu, who play in Finland's second division, Mestis, where he played with former National Hockey League defenseman Jakub Kindl.
It's unclear when Noah Kane could make his first appearance with the Kalamazoo Wings, but it may come as early as tomorrow night as they head out on the road to take on the Fort Wayne Komets.
