A trade involving captain Quinn Hughes could potentially come sooner than many expect for the Vancouver Canucks, leaving Patrik Allvin with a tough decision to make.
Rumors about Quinn Hughes' future with the Vancouver Canucks organization aren't going away anytime soon and if the team continues to falter and even misses the Stanley Cup Playoffs again, the outside noise will only get louder.
Quinn Hughes spoke about that aforementioned outside noise in an interview with Sportsnet's Iain MacIntyre recently, saying he knows and understands what's going on in terms of the noise, but isn't focusing on his future right now, with his attention being on finding a way to get his team back to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
"It depends on the day and what that noise is When I say, I can handle the noise, that's my own thoughts." Hughes said.
He added, "Obviously, I know there's noise out there. It is weird, but I just know in my head that all I have to do is just control what I can control, which is to try to bring my best every night. At the start of season ... when it wasn't going in for me, what's the point in pouting or wondering: Why didn't this go in or that go in? If you think you're that good, then just go score or go make a play. And that's kind of what I'm trying to do. Just go play and see what I can do."

Quinn Hughes trade could come sooner than many expect for Vancouver Canucks
Trading Quinn Hughes is the absolute worst-case scenario for the Vancouver Canucks and would likely mean that the team has missed out on the Stanley Cup Playoffs this season and him not believing he has a chance to win a championship in the Lower Mainland.
If it happens to go down the trade route, it could even happen as early as this season ahead of the National Hockey League's deadline on Friday, March 6th.
During a recent appearance on Canucks Talk, National Hockey League insider Rick Dhaliwal shared that he's of the belief that internally, the Canucks may think about moving Quinn Hughes this season and it would be better for them to do that, if they know they don't stand a chance locking him up to a long-term extension.
"I do believe that they internally do think that it's better to move him this year if - capital letters if - he doesn't wanna commit to the franchise long term" Dhaliwal said.
The return in a Quinn Hughes trade would be massive for the Vancouver Canucks, but would also likely force the team to enter a rebuilding phase, which some fans want to see while others including ownership and management aren't sure is feasible given the other talent they have on this roster.
