The Canucks organization has announced contract extensions for a trio of 2025 Calder Cup champions on Wednesday afternoon, including the son of a former Vancouver forward.

It was a very successful season for the American Hockey League's Abbotsford Canucks, winning their very first Calder Cup championship by defeating the Charlotte Checkers in six games in the Final.
Abbotsford's roster is going to look quite a bit different next season after Vancouver traded Arturs Silovs to the Pittsburgh Penguins, didn't issue qualifying offers to Cole McWard, Christian Felton, Ty Glover and Tristen Nielsen, while numerous others will be vying for a full-time spot on the Canucks' NHL roster in October.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Abbotsford Canucks announced new contracts for a trio of players that helped them achieve their goal of winning the Calder Cup, all three of whom will likely have an expanded role starting this fall.

In a social media post this afternoon, the Abbotsford Canucks announced that they've signed forwards Dino Kambeitz and Cooper Walker, along with defenseman Joe Arntsen to new contracts.
Walker and Artnsen's contracts are for two years, keeping them in Abbotsford until the end of the 2026-27 season, while Kambeitz landed a one-year deal for the 2025-26 campaign and as is the case with most AHL contracts, the salary is not disclosed.
"THEY'RE BACK ✍️

Abbotsford Canucks General Manager, Ryan Johnson, announced today the following extensions.

- Dino Kambeitz to a one-year contract extension through the 2025-26 AHL season
- Cooper Walker to a two-year contract extension through the 2026-27 AHL season
- Joe Arntsen to two-year contract extension through the 2026-27 AHL season" Abbotsford Canucks said.
Ryan Johnson, Abbotsford's General Manager, was very happy that the club was able to bring back all three players next season, believing that they'll make an impact on the team this fall.
"We are excited to bring back some familiar faces for next season. Dino, Cooper and Joe each played an important role in securing our Calder Cup championship in 2025, and we expect them to continue making an impact here in Abbotsford." Johnson said.

Arntsen, 22, signed with the Abbotsford Canucks on a one-year contract back in the spring of 2024 and appeared in ten games with them during the 2024-25 campaign, along with 43 with the ECHL's Kalamazoo Wings, registering 16 points with the latter.
Kambeitz, a native of Parker, Colorado, also joined the Abbotsford Canucks in 2024, signing with the club after three seasons with the AHL's Bakersfield Condors, and he went on to tally 14 points in 52 games.
Walker, the son of former Vancouver Canucks forward Scott Walker, will be returning for his third year with the organization and played quite well in a limited role last season, putting up ten points in 34 games.
The Abbotsford Canucks will begin their defense of the Calder Cup title on Friday, October 10th in Henderson, Nevada as they take on the Silver Knights, affiliate of the NHL's Vegas Golden Knights.
