An NHL insider has hinted that big changes could be coming to the Vancouver Canucks' front office, including to their management and scouting departments.

With a little over three months to go until the deadline, the Vancouver Canucks are going to be in the thick of trade rumors as Patrik Allvin and Jim Rutherford continue to look for ways to get younger and one way they're hoping to do that is by offloading their pending unrestricted free agents.
The Canucks have made it know that they will not enter a full-on rebuild, at least not right now, but big changes are certainly on the horizon in Vancouver as the future of Quinn Hughes needs to be addressed in the first half of 2026.
With big changes potentially looming for the organization, a recent report hinted that General Manager Patrik Allvin and President of Hockey Operations Jim Rutherford might not be the ones to make those.

Insider hints that big changes could be coming to Vancouver Canucks front office

During an appearance on Sekeres & Price last week, NHL insider Cam Robinson spoke about the team's decision to make their veterans and pending unrestricted free agents available on the trade market and also shared some interesting news he heard from someone in another organization.
According to Robinson, this person told him that they've been hearing rumblings that changes could be coming off the ice in Vancouver, potentially with their management and scouting staffs, and it may been soon.
"My big question is, are you gonna let this management team do the big cuts? I had someone from another team...that said they had heard some rumblings that potentially wholesale changes...management, scouting...could be coming." Robinson said.
Under Jim Rutherford and Patrik Allvin, who are in their fifth season with the organization, the Vancouver Canucks have just one appearance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs and for a team that has guys like Brock Boeser, Thatcher Demko, Quinn Hughes and Elias Pettersson on their roster, that's simply unacceptable.
If the Vancouver Canucks were to fire Patrik Allvin and Jim Rutherford in the near future, it's safe to say that the majority of the fanbase would probably be in favour of that move as they want to see big changes soon and for this organization to become a contender for a playoff spot year in, year out, like they were from 2000 to 2013.
