The Vancouver Canucks reportedly remain in the mix for a Chicago Blackhawks forward and former first round pick who the club is reportedly looking to give a fresh start.

Over the few weeks, the Vancouver Canucks' search for forward help has continued, especially after the injury to Nils Hoglander, with NHL insider David Pagnotta reporting last week that Patrik Allvin is looking for someone that can slot in somewhere in the team's middle-six.
"The Vancouver Canucks are believed to be looking for a middle-six forward to add to their roster due to winger Nils Hoglander missing the next eight-to-ten weeks because of an injury. Canucks GM Patrik Allvin has been exploring options, according to separate league sources, but it is unclear if a move is imminent." The Fourth Period said.

One name that to keep an eye on is Lukas Reichel of the Chicago Blackhawks, who the club has been linked to dating back to October 1st.

Earlier this month, Pagnotta shared that the Vancouver Canucks, along with the Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks were three clubs that have interest in the 23-year-old German winger.
"The Vancouver Canucks, Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks are among the teams believed to have interest in Reichel, who was drafted 17th overall by Chicago in the 2020 NHL Draft." Pagnotta said."

While it's been quite on the Lukas Reichel front over the last little while, the Blackhawks are reportedly still open to moving on from the former first round pick and yes, the Vancouver Canucks continue to be among the teams in the mix.
"Three weeks later, Reichel is still a member of the Blackhawks, but he also remains available for trade.

Several teams are believed to have expressed varying levels of interest in Reichel, including the Vancouver Canucks, San Jose Sharks and Detroit Red Wings, among others." The Fourth Period said in their article this week.

Reichel, a native of Nuremberg, Germany, has appeared in five games for the Chicago Blackhawks this season where he's registered four points (two goals, two assists), two penalty minutes and is a plus-one.
The expected cost to acquire Lukas Reichel may reportedly only be a mid-round pick, which Vancouver has plenty of, especially in a couple of years, and if that is legit, there's no reason why Patrik Allvin shouldn't pull the trigger on a deal to bring him to the Canucks.
