Minnesota Wild defenseman Quinn Hughes has officially said goodbye to the Vancouver Canucks organization nearly a month after they trade him to the State of Hockey.

December 12th is a day that fans of this organization won't forget anytime soon as the Vancouver Canucks officially pulled the trigger on a deal that sent Quinn Hughes to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for a package that included top-six centerman Marco Rossi and future number one defenseman Zeev Buium.
"Like Jim, I would also like to thank Quinn for everything thing he has done in Vancouver. Quinn played hard, lead by example and did a lot of very good things for the Canucks. Trading away a player of this caliber is never easy and easy decision to make, but it was one we had to do to make our team better." General Manager Patrik Allvin said.

Trading Quinn Hughes officially sent the Vancouver Canucks into a retooling/rebuilding phase, with the club looking to get younger in the months ahead and now, the former captain has officially said goodbye to his old club as he settles into his new life in Minnesota.

With nearly a week to go until the one month mark in the post-Quinn Hughes era, the Vancouver Canucks have officially unfollowed their former captain on social media, according to X user @NHLFollowTrack.
"👉 canucks (Vancouver Canucks) started following 0 and unfollowed 1:

❌ _quinnhughes (Quinn Hughes)" the post said.
While some fans still aren't too happy with how the whole situation played out and some going as far as saying he quit on the team, Hughes should be remembered in Vancouver as one of the greatest Canucks of all-time after registering 432 points in 459 games.
"I am very proud to have played for the Vancouver Canucks for 7 years, I loved the passion in the city & it brought me some of the most exciting times of my life, living out my dream. What makes playing in Vancouver so special is the people, the city, and what the team means to them! I will always be proud to have represented the Canucks!" Quinn Hughes said on social media following the trade.

So far, the trade has worked out well for both sides, with Hughes putting up 11 points in ten games for the Wild, while Marco Rossi, before his injury, was playing a key top-six role for Adam Foote, defenseman Zeev Buium is beginning to show his true potential, while Liam Ohgren is providing the Canucks' coaching staff with some much needed depth.
