A new goaltender is entering the fold in Vancouver after the signing of one of the team's prospects to an entry-level contract.

Vancouver Canucks fans are waiting for the team's top prospect, Tom Willander, to sign his entry-level contract which will happen in a matter of weeks once Boston University's season concludes, but there are a few other college prospects to keep an eye on.
One of those prospects in the NCAA, Aku Koskenvuo, has recently seen his season come to a close with Harvard and after much deliberation, he's turning pro.

Aku Koskenvuo signed entry-level contract with Vancouver Canucks

On Tuesday afternoon, the Vancouver Canucks announced that they've agreed to terms on a two-year, entry-level contract with goaltending prospect Aku Koskenvuo.
"Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the club has agreed to terms with goaltender Aku Koskenvuo on a two-year, entry-level contract." the Canucks announced.

The start date and financial details were not revealed by the Vancouver Canucks in their statement, although according to PuckPedia, the entry-level contract begins next season and comes with a cap hit of $850,000 USD.
Because Koskenvuo's contract doesn't begin until next season, he could sign an ATO (amateur tryout) with the Abbotsford Canucks in the coming days and be eligible to play for them in the Calder Cup Playoffs.
Harvard University had a tough 2024-25 season, going 13-17-3 and saw their year come to a close after losing a best-of-three quarter-final series to Clarkson University over the weekend.
Koskenvuo, 22, was selected in the fifth round, 137th overall by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft out of the HIFK system in Finland.
Over his three seasons at Harvard University, the Espoo native appeared in 39 games where he had a record of 14-16-5 along with a 2.91 goals against average, a .905 save percentage and three shutouts.
Koskenvuo has also represented his home nation of Finland on a number of occasions including the 2023 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship where he suited up for two games, helping the Finns to a fifth place finish.
