Vancouver Canucks Targeting Chris Kreider In Blockbuster Trade
With the Vancouver Canucks looking to upgrade their forward group, and the New York Rangers shopping Chris Kreider, Patrik Allvin is considering making a blockbuster deal.
The Vancouver Canucks, along with the rest of the NHL are currently on their one week holiday break, which is giving the team this time to revaluate what their needs and priorities are moving forward.
Vancouver Canucks Could Make Trade for Chris Kreider
With the Canucks struggling with their offense this season, general manager Patrik Allvin have already made it clear they are looking for a winger to try and jump start the second half.
The Canucks have been given a unique opportunity as a player like Kreider isn't usually available, but, with all of the issues surrounding the New York Rangers', Kreider's name has already been linked to be being in the move.
Someone told me the Canucks called the Rangers about Chris Kreider. But my guess is Vancouver is probably on Kreider's no-trade list - he's got a healthy one, I think, 15 teams. Rangers sent out feelers that Kreider and [Jacob] Trouba were available, so every team called, including the Canucks
If the deal were to be put through, the Canucks will face a few challenges. They navigate their cap issues, as well as Kreider's 15-team no trade list, which the Canucks have been linked too.
It will be a challenge, but Patrik Alvin has proven in the past he has the ability to make big trades for big players, and Kreider could be the next on his list.
