CRAZY | Junior Player is checked by the linesman: Player responds with a wild beat up on the zebra
The referees and the linesmen have been part of many crazy occurence over the last few months and it may just be the to the shortage we're developing.
In an unidentified league, which we presume to be at the junior levels, a linesman was caught in the play and interfered with the puck carrier causing a turnover.
The player then automatically attack the linesman who didn't appreciate the gesture and immediately threw out the assailant. That's when things got heated real good, as the player the threw a violent punch to the linesman at which point the two other zebras intervened to escort the player out:
While referees and linesmen sometimes make bad call or are standing where they shouldn't be, they should be sacred and nobody should ever deem reasonable to hit one of them. As an essential part of the game, we need to grow the awareness regarding this sort of unacceptable behaviour.
