Former 1st Round Pick on waivers
Two NHL teams have submitted players to the waivers in order to assign them to their respective American Hockey League affiliates.
As reported by Chris Johnston, Michael McCarron of the Nashville Predators has been put on the waiver wire. The 6'6'' forward was the Montreal Canadiens' 1st round pick in 2013, 25th overall. McCarron has not yet found a way to continually stay in the line-up and has been going up and down from the NHL to the AHL for the better of the last 8 years. In the 15 NHL games in which he took part, McCarron registered a goal and an assist.
The Buffalo Sabres have also made their submission with Vinnie Hinostroza. He's been with the Sabres for the last 2 seasons and has not gone down in the AHL since the 2017-2018 season. After putting up 25 points in 62 games on a struggling Sabres line-up last year, the speedy forward only managed eight assists through 19 games this year.
It'd be surprising to see McCarron get claimed, could Hinostroza gather some interest?
